Since its inception, Generation Positive (G+) has been steadfast in its commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Afghanistan. By fostering a new identity for Afghan youth, G+ has worked tirelessly to build bridges across regions, cultures, and generations, creating a collective movement for positive change.
In 2015, G+ held its inaugural event, “Together for Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals,” at Dunya University in Kabul. This foundational gathering brought together youth leaders, thinkers, and changemakers from across Afghanistan to focus on two critical SDGs:
•Goal 4: Quality Education – Ensuring inclusive and equitable access to education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.
•Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions – Building peaceful, just, and inclusive societies with robust institutions that serve all citizens.
The event marked the start of G+’s mission to educate, empower, and advocate for youth participation in shaping Afghanistan’s future.
G+ as a Catalyst for Sustainable Development
At its core, G+ believes in empowering the next generation of Afghans to take ownership of their country’s development. By linking global SDGs to local realities, the organization has inspired youth to see themselves as vital contributors to peace, prosperity, and progress.
A Legacy in Action
G+ continues to serve as a platform for young people to voice their ideas, build their capacities, and advocate for a brighter future. With a focus on education, justice, and innovation, the organization remains committed to connecting youth with regional and global opportunities.
