On March 8th, 2018, the world came together to honor International Women’s Solidarity Day, and in Kabul, Afghanistan, G+ marked this occasion with an extraordinary event titled “Life Makers.”

Held at the French Cultural Center in Kabul, the program radiated with the powerful slogan: “Afghan Women: Steadfast and Positive Steps Towards Excellence and Progress.” The event was not just a celebration but a statement of hope, resilience, and the unyielding determination of Afghan women to overcome challenges and create a brighter future.

The “Life Makers” event was a rich tapestry of cultural and artistic expression, showcasing the diverse talents of Afghan women. Key highlights included:

Live Painting: Artists demonstrated their skills in creating powerful visuals that celebrated the essence of Afghan womanhood.

Music and Singing Performances: Melodic voices and traditional instruments filled the venue, echoing the vibrant culture of Afghanistan.

Dance and Modeling: Energetic dance performances and elegant fashion displays brought the stage to life, embodying confidence and creativity.

Sports and Fencing Demonstrations: Women athletes showcased their strength and discipline through exhilarating sports and fencing displays.

Theater and Poetry: Theatrical acts and heartfelt poetry recitations portrayed the struggles and triumphs of Afghan women.

Film Screening: A significant highlight was the premiere of “The Red Bicycle” (Baisikal-e Surkh), directed by Afghan filmmaker Fazila Amiri. The film poignantly explored the lives and challenges of Afghan girls and women, leaving a lasting impact on the audience.
